DCL Siemens Engineering Ltd. provided full engineering services for the construction of a 100,000 gallon treated water reservoir and pumping station. The reservoir and pumping station was required to meet peak demands for water and fire flow demands of Reserve 166D. The reservoir also provides security of supply in case there is a temporary interruption of supply at the source.
The pumping station is constructed above the concrete treated water reservoir and contains electrically driven distribution pumps and an engine driven fire/standby pump. The distribution pumps provide a continuous supply of water to the reserve and the fire/standby pump provides additional flow in the case of emergency or power outage. There is also a provision to chlorinate the treated water to maintain adequate chlorine residual to all residents. The project was completed in 1998 at a project cost of $400,000.
