DCL Siemens Engineering Ltd. provided engineering and project management services for the upgrade to the Samson Cree Nation sewage treatment lagoons for their townsite in Hobbema, Alberta.

Works included preparation of a Capital Plan for Samson, estimations of populations and growth, a feasibility study as to sizing and siting the facility, tailoring contract documents specifically to allow for work by First Nation contractors, and working exclusively with Samson contractors in construction and project management. This work involved maintaining the existing facilities and conversion of them from single treatment system into the 2 month cell, expansion of storage as Stage 1, and planning for future stages. The total project cost was $1,800,000.
